Note:Ā Please leave some feedback and reblog <3 As always, I love to chat with you all.
The incessant beeping stabs at your brain. Goddamn. You must have left your alarm on!
Your head swims at the thought of moving but you canāt listen to that anymore. You flail your arm out, goosebumps rising in the cold air, as your hand catches on something.Ā
āErmph,ā you grumble at the bite on the back of your hand.Ā
You open your eyes bur just as quickly close them. No. You shudder and peek out through the slits of your eyelids. Itās bright. Too bright. Oh shit.Ā
You make yourself look completely. Thereās an IV inserted in the back of your hand, the beeping from another machine at your bedside. Your throat is raw and your mouth tastes funky. Every inch of you hurts.Ā
No. It canāt be real. Youāre in a hospital. You stare at the ceiling and try to remember last night. The lights, the music, the crush of bodies...Ā
Damn it, Mercedes, that pill definitely doesnāt mix with alcohol. Ā
You sit and wait, unsure of what else to do. The nurse comes to check on you. She asks you basic, rigid questions. Thereās little empathy in her touch or āhow are you feeling?ā She explains that you were brought in with alcohol poisoning.Ā
After checking your reflexes, your blood pressures, and heartbeat, she detaches you from the IV. She suggests you stay hydrates and not to kindly says to avoid alcohol. She tells you youāre cleared to go and leaves.Ā
Youāre embarrassed. You canāt believe it got to this. You always said you would never get that bad. Worse, youāre all alone. Mercedes isnāt here. You wonder if she even knows what happened. What if you hadnāt been brought to the hospital? What then?Ā
You walk out in your mini skirt and the hospital gown. Your shirt is completely missing. You have only your purse and clunky heels, both of which stink.Ā
As you sit on the bus, you want to cry. Your loneliness sets in. And reality. You couldāve died and it wouldāve been all alone in that hospital room. Aside from that, you wouldnāt have even known. It all just wouldāve been gone.Ā
You get off at campus and keep your head down. You wind around Greek Row and enter the dorm building. You climb the stairs with an effort as your stomach lurches. Thereās a hot pain inside of you that just wonāt go away.Ā
By the time you get into your dorm, youāre nauseous. Youāre too empty to vomit. You dump your things in your room and tie on your fluffy robe. You go to get a glass of water. You need coffee but not that instant acid you keep in your cupboard.Ā
Itās early. Too early for Mercedes. You donāt even know if you could face her. Youāre angry and yet it isnāt your fault. You vaguely remember the bartender telling you to stop. Then itās all muddy.Ā
You finish the water and get in the show. You can wash away the grime of sweat, alcohol, and other things you donāt want to name, but the same lingers. You canāt blame anyone but yourself. Itās not like you didnāt have a million warnings.Ā
As you get to your room, you hear your phone buzzing. You sit on the bed and pluck it out of your purse. Shit. Itās your mother. And, you remember, your emergency contact.Ā
You answer on speaker.Ā
āMom--āĀ
āWhat the fuck is this!? I wake up to a goddamn voicemail from a hospital?! Are you insane?ā She shrieks. āCoral. You are so fucking lucky Iām not driving down there right now. Is this what youāre doing with your fucking life? When I'm paying for you to get an education! When I have to work in two hours just to pay for your fucking party nights?!āĀ
You sit and shrink down as you take in her furor. You just stare at the phone. You deserve this but itās also not unusual. Your mother only ever communicates in wails and roars.Ā
āI would say I canāt believe you but youāve always been a fuck up,ā she barks. āGet your shit together, girly, or itās over. Got it?ā You hear her huffing and puffing angrily. You cower instinctively, even though she canāt hit you through the phone. āDonāt fucking call me.āĀ
She hangs up before you can even try to apologise. The sorrys and tears only ever made her worse. You drop your phone and cradle your head.Ā
You have class. Not until noon. You planned it well. You could go out, get lit, and have enough steam to make it through the week one snooze fest. Nope. Youāre not getting any sleep.Ā
You get dressed; a cropped sweatshirt and leggings, and pack up your knapsack. Youāll go get a coffee and something light. Crackers or whatever. Anything more and you might dissolve into the mess you are.Ā
As you walk across campus, you try to think. Itās so weird. You remember patches of last night but nothing connects. And thereās something thatās missing. You donāt know what but it tugs at your brain. There was something else...Ā
The cafeteria is closed but the cafe is open. You get your coffee and a plain bun. The cashier looked at you oddly as you asked for a breakfast sandwich with no fillings. You sit and nibble as you stare blindly across the empty tables.Ā
God, you feel hollow. Like youāve been gutted. Ā
What do you do now? Where do you go? Is this the point when you change? When you hunker down and live a boring life? That sounds awful. Is that what it means to grow up? You have to live with your head in books and drag yourself through every dull day.Ā
You donāt want to be your mother. You donāt want to be angry and resentful because you ended up in a dead-end office with an asshole boss. Well, if youāre not going to that, maybe it is time you got your head on straight. If youāre going to be a PR lawyer, you canāt be waking up in a hospital bed with a pumped stomach.Ā
And youāre going to need to get some new friends.Ā

Details of Belle's room, because I like her a lot and she deserves more attention.
[Desc: Belle's wooden desk. Featuring an industrial style lamp, a metal lock box under a standard black file box. There's a pair of white headphones with green detailing, and a clear plus(+) and minus(-) symbol for volume. A pencil holder that looks a bit like film, though it has numbers & letters. It holds a pair of scissors, a graphite pencil, an exacto blade/box cutter, a marker, and a mechanical pencils/pen. There's a scrap/sketch book in the center, brown and seemingly leather. There's a latch and band to keep it closed and it's covered in stamps, most notably one with a four leaf clover. On the wall are two post it notes, both with little doodles. This hints that she's creative. Either collecting stamps and stickers, which would align with the stickers all over her room and her pension for memory keeping (see the memory board the player can edit), and that she at least does small doodles, if not draw as a hobby.]
[Desc: Beside her orange box tv; which is inspired by vintage 70s/80s tube televisions with knobs/dials; is a game console on top of a VHS player. It's seemingly inspired by the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, based on it's shape. There are three game cartridges, one in the machine. The one in the console is half visible, but what we can see has a blue smiley face. The second cartridge with a visible sticker seems to be either a horror or "biohazard" type shooter game. Though that's my interpretation.]
[Desc: Beside her desk is a wall with pipes. On the lower pipe there are more post it notes with more small doodles, stuck to the pipe with small magnets. One features a small yellow star and three big question marks. Two features a figure running with their hands over their head, carrying a heart. Three has some illegible writing and an emoticon face. On the pipe above this one are VHS tape boxes. Most are in kanji I cannot read, but the ones I can are- (1) The Silence of the Butterflies (2) I'M NOT A BANGBOO (3) The Sixteenth Split. I like to imagine the first movie is maybe a reference to Silence of the Lambs, based on the title alone. Which, if it is, might mean Belle likes horror/psychological horror movies.]
[Desc: On the table beside her mini fridge is a hybrid music player. It plays records via a slit in the front, almost like a CD player. And there's a space for walkman tapes above that. The volume knob is notably loud, there are tiny numbers and Belle's set it to the second-to-last setting. There's a box of records beside it with two semi visible packages. The first one is in kanji I, again, cannot read. But my guess, based on the art, is some kind of alt style music. The one behind it has a barely visible animal mascot with vibrant blues & greens, and the sharp art style makes me think of electric rock or pop. Behind this is her night stand. On the nightstand is a blue "GameBoy" and a yellow mug that says 'LENMAN', which is also seen on a soda can in her room. Lemon soda, I would guess.]
[Desc: The wall beside Belle's (unmade) bed. There are five posters. One features art of a woman's face above the movie title; 'REVERSAL'. There is some silhouette art that vaguely looks like some ethereal monsters, followed by the movie tag line underneathe - "Night of the Ethereal Reversal". Might be a Night of the Living Dead reference. Which further makes me believe Belle likes horror movies. The second poster is covered by One & Three, which makes it pretty hard to know what it shows. What I can see is an unfinished title - "---- Slayer". There's eyes on some of the visible artwork and it looks vaguely like a record with scenes on it. The third poster features various Bangboos climbing away from a large, glowing, orange, Bangboo that seems to be "exploding" with energy, exposing its skeleton & heart. There's kanji I can't read, but under the kanji title is the word "THUNDER". And the words "BANGBOO POWER" are behind the artwork at the top. The fourth poster is one also seen downstairs in the Random Play store. The title is 'Coffee Mate'. Based on the style & energy of the artwork, my personal guess is that it's a romantic, slow paced anime film. The fifth & last poster is titles Ports Peak. The art is blue with a red chainsaw blade shape cutting through the middle, in the blade shape is the vague image of a man's side profile. Based on the blood splatter pattern & the chainsaw, this is likely a horror movie. The art makes me think of Evil Dead & Texas Chainsaw Massacre, personally.]
{Desc: Beside Belle's leather couch is a red electric guitar & an orange amp. On the couch is also one of her console controllers...which has no joy sticks, only a d pad, buttons, and bumpers. Also, she has stickers on her leather couch, clearly showing she gives no fucks.]
[Desc: On the floor, in a divot in the wall beside the small stairs that go up to her bed's raised platform is a skateboard & a framed poster. The skateboard features a green dinosaur/monster with it's mouth open. The bottom says FATE, likely the brand. The framed poster features two smiling tigers on the top & bottom of a logo, on a red & black striped background. Since she also has snowboard goggles in her room, I'm guessing she uses the skateboard when the weather is too warm for snow.]
[Desc: Next to Eous's charging station is a yellow dresser. On top of it is a boombox radio that has two mixtape spots. There's a small display with random colors that currently displays a pause symbol. It also has an antenna, which means it could be used as a standard FM/AM radio. Beside the boombox is a rabbit statue that Belle is using to hold a pair of black, green & blue snowboarding goggles. Small note, on Eous' coat is the words "Random Play - Staff", and his scarf has their name in small text.]
[Desc: At the end of Belle's bed is a pair of red shelves, and a pair of industrial metal & wood shelves. On the red shelves are three record sleeves. The small text on the albums is gibberish, but they're all made by 5AM Studios. The first and top one is black with white graffiti-bubble letters that say "3Z". R'n'B maybe? I've seen art like this for some R'N'B albums. Below it, the second album features some art of a Bangboo riding a cat through a ring of fire. Above the art is the word ZENLESS. The font & style give me, personally, some rock vibes. What subgenre of rock, I'm not sure. The last album is a art of a spider on a black & red ombre background, contrasting the spider, which features the same gradient in the opposite direction. The spider seems to feature the name of the band or album, but I can't tell what it says. I do know that this shit has to be a metal album. I'm like, 90% sure. On the industrial style shelves are some VHS tapes & a box. These tapes look like the type you buy for your own recordings, rather than ones with movies. Underneath that level is a technicolor piece of artwork in a frame. There's an illegible signature in the right bottom corner, meaning it's an autograph.]

Writer's Choice - Different First Meetings + Modern/Canon Divergence AU (because I don't want to have the period typical homophobia)
.āt°⩠Steve takes the kids to a local concert and manages to get himself front and center when Corroded Coffin takes the stage. ā©Ā°ļ½”ā.

Steve is going toĀ killĀ Dustin. And Lucas, too, for that matter. Max he thinks he can forgive, seeing as she's a full head shorter than most of them and out of all the kids (practically adults now, but if Steve thinks about that for too long he'll want to throw up... or cry), she's the one who'll make sure the rest of the buttheads currently scattered throughout the too dark, overly-crowded concert space don't get themselves into trouble. But the fact remains that Dustin had said he'd stick with Steve if they got closer to the stage, that no one else wanted to go with him, andĀ "C'mon Steve! You want to leave me alone with a bunch of metalheads?"Ā only for Dustin to abandon him!
If there's a saving grace, and it's a marginal one at that, Steve's managed to force himself to the front of the slightly raised platform between the bands changing over so he's far enough away from the mini moshpits that keep breaking out. But it also leaves him closer to the more fanatic audience members who aren't particularly mindful of where they're throwing their elbows, and even with his hearing aid turned off, they're loud, a low chant ofĀ "Coffin, Coffin, Coffin!"Ā growing in urgency and volume.
Still, it feels safer to be able to crawl along the stage to escape if he needs to, and Steve can admit to himself that he's not having theĀ worstĀ time. That doesn't mean he's not sending Robin passive-aggressive texts every half hour, seeing as she'd tricked him into being the chaperone. He steadfastly ignores the replies where she calls him out, knowing he would have offered himself up anyway.
He's just about to send her another, maybe even send a selfie of his slowly deflating hair and scowl, when the lights dim almost to the point of total darkness.
There's an immediate hush, and then, when the strobes at the back of the stage flair up, imitating lightning, silhouetting figures that weren't there a moment before, the crowd explodes into a roar. It's almost so intense that Steve's bad ear rings. A fog machine hisses to life from somewhere off the right of the stage, and when a good layer of the smoke has started spilling over the lip of it, ghosting over Steve's knees, the rest of the lights come back on, a mix of neon red and flickering white.
There's a bass line kicking up to match the pattern of the blinks, and something about its low sound matching that visual cue and vibrating Steve from his feet to the top of his head easily fights through the screaming people buddying up to Steve and catches his attention in a not so unpleasant way. The drums follow, and it's effortless to connect the hard hits, higher in pitch and almost imperceptible to Steve's fucked hearing, with the nodding head of the musician responsible for it. And then, like a siren call, a distant wail, a guitar comes to life, and Steve's eyes follow the invisible wave of sound only to stop when-
HolyĀ hell.
Right in front of him, only five feet away, with his leg propped up on a pedal and his wild mane of dark frizzy curls shaking with the rock of his body, is the most gorgeous guy Steve's ever seen.
It could be a trick of the mood lighting, or maybe just the combination of envy-worthy hair and wicked, electric smile, but Steve's pretty sure it's the whole damn package.
The guitarist's in a cut-off tank top, the edges of it tattered and the arms slit so low down his sides that Steve can see the curve of black ink crawling across his ribs. His pants are black and leather, like his boots, and each time he moves, picking out a new cord or riff, the flash of the silver jewelry adorning his fingers, chunky, eye-catching rings, is a beacon for Steve to track. He looks like some 80's hard rocker transported right into the twenty-first century with the sole mission to remind everyone why they includedĀ 'Sex'Ā in the phrase 'Sex & Drugs & Rock 'n Roll'Ā and from the way he moves, large and confident, throwing off winks and grins, heĀ knowsĀ it.
Some of the girls around Steve sound like they'reĀ crying, sobbing out the nameĀ 'Eddie,'Ā and given that they only get louder when the guitarist swings his hips and hair in their general direction, Steve guesses that's the guy's name.
A lot of the music fades with his attention so readily captured, but Steve likes this band more than the one before, and not just because he has to check if he's drooling when Eddie drops to his knees halfway through a song for a ridiculously attractive guitar solo. The bass is hard, and it's not just senseless thrashing. There's an occasional mellowness to the musical breaks, and the lyrics are followable. It's still not Steve's kind of sound, but dumb as he is about metal music, he knows these guys areĀ good.
There are a few moments where Steve thinks his and Eddie's eyes meet, where one of those winks or blown kisses might be for him. He's still right against the stage, but Steve likes to think he's gotten a grip on his habit of wishful thinking and shrugs it away. He tells himself it's the blonde with the big rack screaming herself shrill just behind his shoulder that's getting all the attention he kind of wants just for himself.
Steve can tell the end of their set is coming up because somehow the energy in the crowd grows tenfold, and there's a new rocking of bodies where every other note of the song currently howling from the amps bumps Steve up against the platform, harder and harder each time. Something's coming. He doesn't know what, couldn't even guess, but the atmosphere is ratcheting to positively feral levels as he's jerked left and right but managing to keep his feet planted. And when the drum solo kicks in, starting soft but growing into a steady crescendo, Steve's proven corrected.
The audience behind him gives one heavingĀ shove, and he trips forward, barely catching himself on the lip of the stage with his palms but nearly smacking his face on it all the same. He curses under his breath and shakes the disorientation from his head when he realizes someone is right in front of him. Steve follows the leather-clad knee up to a leather-clad thigh to a black cut-off tank top until his gaze plants itself right on the smirking mouth of Eddie, the guitarist.
The drums are still going, still rising in intensity like the crowd that's becoming distant white noise to Steve the longer Eddie doesn't move away. Steve doesn't even realize that Eddie's gettingĀ closerĀ until there's a hand cupping his cheek, a thumb pressed to the dip of his chin, and his face is tipped up.
"Careful there, big boy," SteveĀ thinksĀ is what Eddie says, mostly reading his still sharply amused lips, and then he's not thinking much of anything because the cymbals of the drums crash, and Eddie isĀ kissingĀ him.
It's deep and messy and so full of blatant showmanship that it's mostly gross. It also has Steve's toes curling and a startled sort of moan forcing itself from his chest. It's quick also. Too quick if he's being honest. He doesn't even get a chance to close his eyes and feel it before Eddie separates from him with a wetĀ popĀ and before jumping right back into the music.
He blows a kiss right at Steve and punctuates it with a hard-strummed chord on his guitar. Then he's gone, leaving Steve in a momentarily senseless vacuum until the room comes pouring back into his brain, and he's forced to acknowledge the people shaking him in some weird display of congratulations.
Steve's not sure how he's supposed to feel, but he thinks the next time Eddie throws a grin his way, he won't be as quick to dismiss it as being for him.
Ficlet Bingo!

After covering a little bit of everything in my last try-on haul, this oneās all about dresses. Iāve been on the lookout for casual spring stylesāsomething easy to throw on and feel put-together for everyday. Not every dress was a winner, but Iām sharing all the hits and misses so you can get a sense of the fit, fabric, and overall vibe. If youāre shopping for spring dresses, I hope this helps! As usual, I will provide measurements and fabric content on each item when I can find it, and Iāll share whether I plan to keep it or not. Just remember, even when I decide not to keep something, it doesnāt mean it isnāt worth checking out. I just may not need it, or it may not work for my body type or lifestyle. SIZING NOTES: Iām 5ā5ā³ and I usually wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29 or 30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself. Z Supply Sloane V-Neck Mini Dress in Black at Z Supply (size M) // Paul Green Hadley (8) DETAILS: Easy and breezy, this v-neck mini dress is made from soft, midweight cotton jersey for all-day comfort. The sleeveless, relaxed fit makes it perfect for dressing up or keeping it casual. Cotton Jersey: 100% Cotton Machine Wash Cold, Gentle Cycle, Hang to Dry Even though this dress is labeled a mini, I liked the look of it enough online to give it a tryāif nothing else, I figured it could double as a swim cover-up. I really like the v-neckline, the bra-friendly straps, and the easy fit. And the fabric is especially niceāsoft and comfortable, but with enough weight to feel substantial. It skims the body without clinging, and the āwashed blackā has a subtle fade that adds a bit of interest and just the right touch of edge. That said, itās a little shorter than I typically go for, and I just feel a bit too bare in it. It could totally work as a cover-up, but I think I tend to prefer gauzy styles for that. VERDICT: Iām undecided on this one. Itās very cute, but Iām not sure Iāll reach for it. Old Navy Vintage Mini T-Shirt Dress in Blue Wing Teal at Old Navy (M) // Paul Green Hadley (8) DETAILS: A super relaxed fit with lived-in feels. center back seam 100% cotton jersey machine wash I ordered this sleeveless tank dress from Old Navy because I loved the bright teal color. The length is better on me than the one above, and I actually think itās pretty flattering from the backāwhich isnāt always the case with these shift-style dresses. But from the front, it just doesnāt quite work. The neckline is super high, and the fit around the armholes feels a little awkward. VERDICT: I decided to return this. Itās fine, but I feel like I can do better. Kingsley Knit Dress at EVEREVE (M) // Paul Green Hadley (8) DETAILS: Add theĀ Kingsley Knit Dress to your casual spring collection, featuring a crew neckline, bra-friendly gussets at the armholes, and a relaxed silhouette.Ā Length from Shoulder to Hem: 34 1/2ā³ Material: 100% Cotton Slub Jersey Knit Care: Machine Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low These are going from bad to worse! This dress really missed the mark for me, but Iāve had a few people ask about it, so I wanted to include it. I didnāt find the cut to be very flattering or forgiving on an, ahem⦠more mature body. Maybe if I had sized up to a large, it would have looked more like it does online, but overall itās just too straight, and the fabric doesnāt have enough weight or drape to hang nicely. VERDICT: Returned. Not a flattering fit, and the fabric didnāt do it any favors. Rails Stripe Rib Midi Tank Dress in Black Birch Stripe at Nordstrom & on sale at Bloomies (M) // Paul Green Hadley (8) DETAILS: Crisp stripes energize this soft and stretchy cotton tank dress punctuated with airy side slits at the hem and perfect for a summery outing. 46 1/2ā³ length (size Medium) Side slits 95% cotton, 5% spandex Machine wash, tumble dry Made in Peru This is a really nice quality dressāas it should be at this price point! I like the cutaway sleeves; they tend to be more flattering than a traditional tank style. Itās definitely body-con, which I tend to steer away from these days, but the fabric and construction feel substantial enough that itās actually kind of forgiving. I think with the right shapewear, I might really like it. The length is greatājust past the widest part of the calfāand the side slits give it a little movement, which helps keep it from feeling too closed-in. VERDICT: Undecided for now. Itās flattering in some ways, but Iād want to try it with shapewear before deciding. Nordstrom Stretch Cotton Ribbed Tank Dress in Pink Wild Aster at Nordstrom (M) // Paul Green Hadley (8) DETAILS: Breathable stretch cotton enhances the comfort of a ribbed tank dress youāll wear on endless repeat. Slips on over head Crewneck Sleeveless 97% pima cotton, 3% spandex Machine wash, tumble dry This dress is a similar style to the Rails one, but at a lower price point. In the medium, itās not quite as body-con on meāwhich I actually donāt mind. (I could probably size down to a small, but I kind of like having the extra room.) The fabric is a bit stiffer and less clingy, which makes it feel a little more forgiving. It has a nice length, those same cutaway sleeves and side slits, and a subtle seam down the back that adds just a bit of detail. I love this bright pink, but it also comes in a few other color choices. VERDICT: Keeping for now. The fit is easy and flattering, and I love the color. Gap Modern Rib Maxi T-Shirt Dress at Gap (S) // Paul Green Hadley (8) DETAILS: Our soft & stretchy cotton-modal blend that hugs you just right. Itās your new 7-days-a-week essential. Crewneck. Short sleeves. Slits at hem. Cotton 58%, Modal 38%, Elastane 4% Machine wash I was drawn to this simple t-shirt maxi dress for its clean, minimal styleāand it really does create that long, lean silhouette weāre all after. While it is quite long, it shows a couple inches of skin at the ankle, which keeps it from feeling too Amish⦠if you know what I mean. It also has side slits (a must for these longer styles!) and I appreciate that the crew neck isnāt super high. Itās more of a jewel neckline, which I find much more flattering. That said, itās very body-con. I didnāt even want to post the rear view. In the striped Rails dress above, the pattern helps camouflage things, but in this solid color, you see every lump and bump. Iād definitely need shapewear to feel comfortable wearing this one out. VERDICT: Undecided. I like the simplicity and silhouette, but there are a few more contenders⦠Frank & Eileen Harper Perfect Tee Maxi Dress in Navy at Frank & Eileen (M) // Miz Mooz Leather Fisherman Slide Sandals (39) DETAILS: Meet the crew neck, boyish tee of your dreams in full-length form. Our Perfect Tee Dress is airy and easy to wear with a gently curving, never-too-tight body, short sleeves, and longer length. Hand-cut, curved raw hem and edges Ribbed crew neck Short sleeves 54ā³ length from shoulder to hem (size S) Heritage Jersey, 100% Cotton Made in Sunny California This oneās definitely a splurge, but the Frank & Eileen quality really shines through. The fabric is their thick heritage jersey cotton, and it gives the dress a beautiful shape and silhouette. I love the raw edges and the shirttail hemāit feels elevated but still relaxed. That said, the sleeve length isnāt the most flattering on me, and the crewneck is pretty high, which I donāt always love. VERDICT: Undecided. The quality and shape are great, but Iām not sure the neckline and sleeves are doing me any favors. Frank & Eileen Cory Vintage Muscle Tee Maxi Dress in Navy at Frank & Eileen (M) // Miz Mooz Leather Fisherman Slide Sandals (39) DETAILS: This vintage tee-inspired dress is just the right amount of boxy and drapes loosely across the body with a cool, raw edge hem that amps up that vintage feel. Hand-cut, curved raw hem and edges Ribbed crew neck Cap sleeves 51ā³ length from shoulder to hem (size S) Heritage Jersey, 100% Cotton Made in Sunny California After I received the Harper, I saw the Cory advertised on Instagram and immediately ordered it. I had a feeling the muscle tee styling would work better for meāand it definitely does. I find this one much more modern and flattering overall. My only reservation (aside from the price point) is the lengthāitās very long, especially in the backābut I donāt think itās a deal breaker. VERDICT: Likely keeping. The fit is more flattering than the Harper, and I love the modern silhouette. I also like that itās not as body-con as the Rails or Gap dressesāit has a bit more ease without feeling oversized. J.Crew Knit boatneck midi dress in stripe at J.Crew (M) // Sam Edelman Deacon Slides (8) DETAILS: This boatneck dress is as easy as it is elevated, thanks to a body-skimming fit and a comfy ribbed fabric with a hint of stretch. Perfect for any occasion, you can dress it up, dress it down and wear it on repeat. Fitted silhouette. Falls above ankle, 51ā³ from high point of shoulder (based on a size 6). 96% cotton/4% elastane. Machine wash. Hereās another contender in the t-shirt style midi/maxi category. I like the stripe design on this one and the subtle A-line silhouetteāit has potential! But the fit just isnāt quite right on me. It feels really long in the torso, and the proportions are off. Maybe I need to try the petite. VERDICT: Returning. The style is cute, and itās a nice quality, but the fitās not quite right. J.Crew Cabana mini dress in linen at J.Crew (S) // Sam Edelman Deacon Slides (8) DETAILS: This breezy style comes with a V neckline that shows a hint of skin, a removable tie at the waist for a cinched-in effect and gathered details along the collar and cuffs. Plus, itās crafted from lightweight 100 percent linen to keep you cool all day long. A-line silhouette. Falls above knee, 35 1/4ā³ from high point of shoulder (based on a size 6). On-seam pockets. Slip lining. 100% linen. Machine wash. Finally, this is the dress I tried in a medium and decided to re-order. Itās not my typical style, but I kind of like it. It has an easy, breezy feel, and the fit is actually pretty flattering. It could be a nice option to have on hand. That said, Iām on the fence about the long sleeves. The combination of linen, long sleeves, and a short skirt feels a little off-seasonāI wouldnāt have worn it a month ago, and now it almost feels too late. VERDICT: Undecided. Cute in theory, but the timing and styling might make it tricky to wear. Okay, thatās a wrap for this try-on haul! Iād love to hear your thoughtsādid any of these catch your eye? My LDB tinkerer/artificer OC is bordering on being an evil genius/inventor thanks to mods and Spiders - Iām having the time of my life (well not downright evil, theyāre more chaotic- they mean well - most of the time - but ye they definetly have a few screws loose and their tools via crafting definetly reflects that)

Meet Eden Vonius (any pronouns, but they prefer they/them). This is them in their Werebear form (thanks to Growl and Refined Werebear Replacer).
Iāve been playing with this mini-build: https://theskyforge.ning.com/groups/tes-character-building/forum/character-mini-build-the-tinker
And been managing a mostly pure Warrior build , with only healing magic allowed - in addition to all the crafting skills (they worship Azura via the Gods and Worship mod, so no soul trapping allowed and she fills their lesser soul gems up once a day).
Because of the War they gained a literal phobia of magic but particular Illusion and Destruction magic - they mostly donāt wish other mages ill, except for Necromancers and Ice Mages (Skyrim is cold enough dammit) but even other mages like Araena Ienth, Erandur, Serana and Miraak are on thin ice)(they donāt like the college at all and had to be dragged there to get the scroll for Dawnguard, and they were out of there asap - Miraak will have to at some point drag them to Saarthal kicking and screaming to continue the Questline in order to beat Morokei, and thus able to claim Konahrik, but they wonāt be having a good time - luckily I believe shouts like Fire and Frost breath work on the wall in Saarthal and Labyrinthian.
So Iām basically turning my already traumatised girlie into a triple-war veteran (even though sheās barely coping with losing their twin sister Floria as a teen in the Great War), via the Second Great War mod (is the Empire really worth it Bub? Or are you just clinging to what you have always known was deeply flawed, but to scared to change to consider other options?),(you deep down wanted to jump ship just for the hell of it, but common sense (if you can even call it that) brought you back) and I have now finally incorporated Spider Scrolls (via the Spider Bros Mod) and theyāre so fun.
And I discovered now that thereās a Plantable Animals mod (for Albino Spiders and Chaurus), coupled with the LoTD Safehouse Patio Greenhouse and the āBack to the Drawing Boardā quest for LoTD to install a Spider Imbuing machine in the Safehouse. And since I have managed to play for a full ingame year, they have an entire chest full of gemstones and the likeā¦
Aka my dumbass (lovingly) is gonna head to Solstheim, get those plans and some spider pods, and then bunker himself in the Safehouse , and grow Spiders that they can turn into weapons to throw on people, during a literal invasion by the Dominon. Mods, why have you allowed this (I say in glee)
Edit: Theyāre also the Harbinger of the Companions (thatās how they became a bear and discovered that they loved it (in process of getting the Totems even though they lean more towards Tsun as a patron more than Hircine - mostly due to the Bear symbolism and of mourning a lost sibling), and had Aela, Farkas and Vilkas as followers for a while, ditched them at Autumnwatch Lodge (Homebase via Nether Followers Framework) along with Khash and Caryalind a time ago to just strike out with Kaidan and Miraak (worst polycule ever).
And I got the Iām Glad youāre Here mod mostly cause of the Letters dismissed companions can send you. And I recently got one from Farkas saying basically āwhy have you been gone so long, weāre called the Companions for a reason, come back šā , and the Humor of the situation and me coming up with this solution just as I was beginning to bore of this character (in theory, actually having to redo the main quest again drives that away instagly).
Farkas (known arachnaphobe); āwhy have you been gone/not let us visit? - weāre shield-siblings for a reasonā
Eden (got spiders growing in their greenhouse (literally accessible to the public by a staircase from the entrance of the museum): āNo reason, no reason at allā (theyāre probably gonna change them out eventually, but might postpone the reuniting of them just yet š
Edit 2: Also I got the Vicn Trilogy (Vigilant, Glenmoril, Unslaad - that Iām hoping to actually finish in the correct order), and for this one - Glenmoril is right up their alley (artificer stuff like throwing knives via scrolls, Bloodborne inspired - literal Dwemer guns and crossbows) might just be enough to make up for all the trauma they will get, maybe. (Eden, Iām so sorry, but youāre just too good a fit to not drag you through that).
Edit 3: Was gonna add an addition to this post in a joking matter but it turned āsweetā (or at least less downright deranged, hopefully) instead.
Eden, doesnāt want to fight in this War one bit, extremely worried for their (loving and doting) dads back home in Cheydinhal, and has the Nord Courier deliver a hasty message to their family (āPlease Be Safeā), tries for once to stay near Castle Dour as possible.
Also Eden: Farming literal spiders holed up in their Safehouse, unbothered (actually very bothered)
-But thatās just their way of coping I guess, and while itās quite unorthodox (and gross) desperate times call for desperate measures - and the Gallery is just down the street so they couldnāt be nearer while not having to go anywhere to get what they need (they arenāt the biggest fan of Solitude, much preferring more smaller towns, but it more than serves its purpose now) - Theyāre trying (very stressed, but trying).
